# Bolagsverket's API explained: what it includes, what it costs and what is missing

Reviewed 2026-10-26 by GET /bolag.

**Short answer:** Bolagsverket's API for high-value datasets is free and gives basic data and digital annual reports, but not the board or authorised signatories. The paid company information API has them and costs SEK 5,000 to connect plus SEK 1,000 to 24,000 a month for 500 to 15,000 transactions (excluding VAT, Bolagsverket 2026-10-26).

Written by GET /bolag. We are not Bolagsverket (the Swedish Companies Registration Office). The information was checked on the websites of Bolagsverket and SCB (Statistics Sweden) on 2026-10-26.

## Two APIs with different terms

Bolagsverket has two APIs for retrieving information on Swedish companies and associations into your own systems. One is open and free. The other is contract-based and carries a fee. They draw on the same register but give different amounts of data, and that difference decides whether you need to pay anything at all.

### The open API: high-value datasets

The API for high-value datasets (värdefulla datamängder) rests on EU Implementing Regulation 2023/138, which designates basic company information and annual reports as data that must be free of charge across the Union. Bolagsverket and SCB made their datasets free of charge on 3 February 2025 ([Bolagsverket, Värdefulla datamängder](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/vardefulladatamangder.5294.html), read 2026-10-26). No agreement is needed, only a customer registration (kundanmälan).

The API has four operations according to the OpenAPI description in [Bolagsverket's developer portal](https://portal.api.bolagsverket.se/devportal/apis) (version v1, read 2026-10-26):

- `POST /organisationer` takes an organisation number and returns information on the organisation.
- `POST /dokumentlista` takes an organisation number and returns a list of the company's digitally filed annual reports.
- `GET /dokument/{dokumentId}` retrieves an annual report as a zip file.
- `GET /isalive` reports whether the service is up.

According to Bolagsverket's field list ([API for high-value datasets](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/vardefulladatamangder/apiforvardefulladatamangder.5513.html), read 2026-10-26), the response from `/organisationer` contains the organisation number, all names including special company names, organisation form, legal form, postal address, registration date, business description, SNI codes (the Swedish industry classification), date and reason for deregistration, ongoing bankruptcy, liquidation or other winding-up procedure, marketing block (reklamspärr) and whether the organisation counts as active (verksam). The last three come from SCB. A company counts as active if it has F-tax (registered for corporate tax), VAT registration or employer registration.

The open API has no board, no managing director, no auditor and no signatory rights. Bolagsverket's page does not say so explicitly, but the fields are in neither the field list nor the OpenAPI description. This also matches the EU regulation, whose list of key data does not include people in a company's management.

The annual reports are those filed digitally in iXBRL format, from 2020 onwards: annual reports for limited companies under K2 or K3, consolidated accounts under K3 and reports under ESMA's ESEF taxonomy. Scanned annual reports in pdf format cannot be retrieved free of charge, and housing cooperatives (bostadsrättsföreningar) cannot yet file their annual report in iXBRL ([Bolagsverket, questions and answers](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/driftochsupport/fragorochsvaromapierna.4611.html), read 2026-10-26).

The same data is also available as files updated every week: a zip file with basic data for all organisations and a folder with the previous week's digitally filed annual reports ([Downloadable files](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/nedladdningsbarafiler.2517.html), read 2026-10-26).

### The contract-based API: company information version 4

The API for retrieving company information is Bolagsverket's paid service. The current version in the developer portal is called Företagsinformation v4 and has, among others, the operations `/organisationer`, `/personer`, `/firmateckningsalternativ`, `/arenden`, `/aktiekapitalforandringar`, `/organisationsengagemang`, `/finansiella-rapporter` and `/foretagsinteckningar` (OpenAPI description, read 2026-10-26). Beneficial owners and documents are in separate APIs alongside.

According to [Bolagsverket's page on the API](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/apiforatthamtaforetagsinformation.3988.html) (updated 2026-10-14, read 2026-10-26), you can retrieve the following, in addition to everything in the open API:

- board, managing director, auditors and other officers, with information on whom an officer represents
- signatory rights as text and, for a given person in a given company, whether the person may sign for the company alone, jointly with others, in day-to-day management or not at all
- municipality of domicile, financial year, email address, share capital, number of shares and share classes
- cases at Bolagsverket, open and closed, for limited companies from 2003
- share capital changes, debt instruments (skuldebrev) and authorisations from 2003
- financial reports per accounting period, with date received, registration date and decided dividend
- detailed status in bankruptcy, liquidation, company reorganisation, merger and demerger
- a person's or a company's engagements in other companies
- floating charges (företagsinteckningar)
- documents such as articles of association, statutes, registration certificates and annual reports, for a separate fee

Beyond the board, what differs most from the open API is that `/organisationer` takes a parameter `tidpunkt` (point in time). With it you get the information as it was registered at a given point in time instead of today. Bolagsverket writes in the OpenAPI description that the point in time cannot be given with fractions of a second. A case registered at 12:00:00.1234 is therefore found by asking for 12:00:01. The engagements list (`ORGANISATIONSENGAGEMANG`) cannot be combined with a point in time.

The API also accepts personal identity numbers (personnummer). This means the responses contain personal data, and whoever connects is responsible for ensuring that the processing follows the data protection rules and the purpose stated in the agreement (agreement template version 1.0, section 5, read 2026-10-23).

### Comparison

## What Bolagsverket charges

The open API costs nothing. The contract-based one has a connection fee and a monthly fee that depends on how many transactions you choose to be able to make. The prices below are taken from [Bolagsverket's page on the API](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/apiforatthamtaforetagsinformation.3988.html) on 26 October 2026, in Swedish kronor (SEK) excluding VAT. The right-hand column is our own calculation.

| Tier | Monthly fee | Including VAT | Per transaction if the whole tier is used |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connection (once) | SEK 5,000 | SEK 6,250 | |
| 500 transactions | SEK 1,000 | SEK 1,250 | SEK 2.00 |
| 3,000 transactions | SEK 5,000 | SEK 6,250 | SEK 1.67 |
| 8,000 transactions | SEK 13,000 | SEK 16,250 | SEK 1.63 |
| 15,000 transactions | SEK 24,000 | SEK 30,000 | SEK 1.60 |

Unused transactions are not carried over to the next month, so the price per actual lookup is higher than in the right-hand column. Someone who makes 501 transactions a month needs the 3,000 tier and pays five times as much as someone who makes 500.

Bolagsverket invoices the connection fee when the agreement is signed. The monthly fee starts when you get access to the production environment, and no later than three months after the agreement is approved. While you only have the test environment, you pay no monthly fee.

### What a transaction is

One question is one transaction, regardless of how much you ask for in it. If you ask for name and board in the same call, that is one transaction. If you ask for them in two calls, that is two ([questions and answers](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/driftochsupport/fragorochsvaromapierna.4611.html), read 2026-10-26). A question about beneficial owners counts separately, even if it concerns the same company.

Notifications and calls to the open API do not count towards the tier. But that applies only if you use the open API's own operations. If you retrieve the same basic data through `/organisationer` in the paid API, it counts as a transaction.

### Documents have their own tiers

If you want to retrieve documents such as registration certificates, articles of association or annual reports through the paid API, you also choose a tier for documents. Listing which documents exist does not count, only the retrieval itself.

| Documents per month | Monthly fee excl. VAT | Per document if the whole tier is used |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | SEK 4,000 | SEK 40 |
| 1,000 | SEK 40,000 | SEK 40 |
| 5,000 | SEK 200,000 | SEK 40 |

Documents are therefore the expensive part. The digitally filed annual reports are available free of charge in the open API, so anyone who only needs them should retrieve them there.

## From customer registration to the first call

### The open API

You fill in the [customer registration (kundanmälan)](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/vardefulladatamangder/kundanmalantillapiforvardefulladatamangder.5528.html) with an email address and mobile number. Bolagsverket then sends `client_id` and `client_secret` for both the test and the production environment by email and text message. Authentication is based on OAuth 2 with so-called client credentials: your system exchanges the key pair for an access token and then sends the token with every call.

On 13 May 2026, Bolagsverket wrote on the registration page that demand is high and that processing may take longer than usual. The notice was still there when we read the page on 26 October.

### The contract-based API

Here there are more steps, according to Bolagsverket's page (read 2026-10-26):

1. You read the terms of the agreement and submit a customer registration.
2. Bolagsverket sends an agreement. You fill in which tier you want, sign, and send the agreement back by post.
3. You receive keys for the test environment, and the connection fee is invoiced.
4. You test. The test environment contains a number of test companies and test persons, but not all combinations of data and organisation forms.
5. You get in touch when the tests are done and receive new keys for production. If you do not get in touch within three months, you get production access automatically and the monthly fee starts to run.

There are three agreement templates: one for companies and private individuals, one arrangement for state authorities and one for other public bodies ([agreement page](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/apiforatthamtaforetagsinformation/avtalforapiforatthamtaforetagsinformation.3990.html), read 2026-10-26). A municipality therefore does not sign the same agreement as a company.

The template for companies (version 1.0, read 2026-10-23) says that you may retrieve information only for the purpose stated in Annex A of the agreement, and that you must notify Bolagsverket if the purpose changes. Bolagsverket may then review the connection again. The agreement runs until further notice and can be terminated with effect from the next month-end. Anyone planning to use the data for something other than what the annex states should therefore ask Bolagsverket first.

### Limits and response times

The open API allows 60 calls per minute per user, and the paid one allows 20 calls per second, according to Bolagsverket's pages on each API. Both respond with JSON over HTTPS. In the questions and answers (read 2026-10-26), Bolagsverket states that the average response time in production is under 200 milliseconds, that you can only ask about one organisation number at a time, and that data is only available in Swedish, even though the technical documentation is available in English.

At 60 calls per minute, this means in practice: a nightly job that goes through 10,000 customers takes just under three hours against the open API. Against the paid one it takes a little over eight minutes, but costs 10,000 transactions.

### A first call

The example goes against Bolagsverket's test environment for the open API. The addresses come from Bolagsverket's connection instructions in the developer portal, and organisation number 5299999994 is the test company that Bolagsverket itself uses in its OpenAPI description. In production you replace `portal-accept2` with `portal` and `gw-accept2` with `gw`.

```bash
# 1. Exchange the key pair for an access token (test environment)
curl -s -X POST "https://portal-accept2.api.bolagsverket.se/oauth2/token" \
  -u "YOUR_CLIENT_ID:YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET" \
  -d "grant_type=client_credentials" \
  -d "scope=vardefulla-datamangder:read"
# 2. Query an organisation number with the token from step 1
curl -s -X POST "https://gw-accept2.api.bolagsverket.se/vardefulla-datamangder/v1/organisationer" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"identitetsbeteckning": "5299999994"}'
```

Sending the key pair as HTTP Basic in step 1 follows the OAuth 2 standard for client credentials. We have not run the calls ourselves, since that requires our own keys from Bolagsverket.

### What the response looks like

The response below is an excerpt from Bolagsverket's own example in the OpenAPI description. The company is fictional, made up by Bolagsverket.

```json
{
  "organisationer": [
    {
      "organisationsidentitet": { "identitetsbeteckning": "5299999994" },
      "organisationsnamn": {
        "organisationsnamnLista": [
          {
            "namn": "Cykelbolaget AB",
            "registreringsdatum": 1584230400000,
            "organisationsnamntyp": { "kod": "FORETAGSNAMN", "klartext": "Företagsnamn" }
          }
        ],
        "fel": null,
        "dataproducent": "Bolagsverket"
      },
      "organisationsform": { "kod": "AB", "klartext": "Aktiebolag", "fel": null, "dataproducent": "Bolagsverket" },
      "verksamOrganisation": { "kod": "NEJ", "fel": null, "dataproducent": "SCB" },
      "postadressOrganisation": {
        "postadress": { "utdelningsadress": "Jobbstigen 2", "postnummer": "12345", "postort": "Grönköping" },
        "fel": null,
        "dataproducent": "SCB"
      },
      "naringsgrenOrganisation": {
        "sni": [ { "kod": "47642", "klartext": "Specialiserad butikshandel med cyklar" } ],
        "fel": null,
        "dataproducent": "Bolagsverket"
      }
    }
  ]
}
```

Each block has a field `dataproducent` (Bolagsverket or SCB) and its own field `fel` (error), so a response can be partly successful. Dates come as milliseconds since 1970.

## SCB's business register as a complement

SCB's general business register is a separate source with its own API, free of charge since 26 June 2025 ([SCB](https://www.scb.se/vara-tjanster/bestall-data-och-statistik/foretagsregistret/avgiftsfria-uppgifter-i-foretagsregistret/), read 2026-10-26). It is broader than Bolagsverket's register in one important way: it holds all legal entities, sole traders who have a registered business name or are registered for VAT, F-tax or as an employer, and estates of deceased persons (dödsbon) with VAT or employer registration. It also holds workplaces (arbetsställen), meaning the physical sites where a company operates, and number of employees in size classes.

Technically it is a REST API that responds with JSON. You register in SCB's registration portal, accept the terms of use and receive an API key. The key is personal and must not be shared with anyone else. Each call returns at most 5,000 rows, with the option to page onwards, and each key may make at most five calls per second. The API is updated every night except the night towards Sunday, but most data changes only once a week or less often.

SCB states itself that the API has no history and cannot return only the changes. Anyone who wants ongoing changes buys SCB's notification service. According to [SCB's price list](https://www.scb.se/vara-tjanster/bestall-data-och-statistik/foretagsregistret/foretagsregistrets-tjanster/) (read 2026-10-26), it costs SEK 3,000 as a start-up cost and then, for twelve months, SEK 3,000 for fewer than 5,000 records, SEK 10,000 for fewer than 25,000, SEK 25,000 for fewer than 100,000 and SEK 100,000 for the whole register. The price list does not say whether the prices include or exclude VAT.

Some of SCB's data is already in Bolagsverket's open API: marketing block, legal form and whether the company is active. The open API also answers for organisations that exist only at SCB, for example municipalities, regions and natural persons without a registered business name, according to the table on Bolagsverket's page. SCB's own API is therefore needed mainly when you want workplaces and number of employees in size classes.

## The gaps that remain

Bolagsverket's two APIs and SCB's register cover more than many people think. The paid API gives board, signatory rights and information at a point in time. But there are gaps, and it is good to know them before you build.

**You cannot search by company name.** You must have the organisation number. Bolagsverket writes that the need is known but that there is no planned date (questions and answers, read 2026-10-26).

**One question concerns one company.** There is no way to ask about several organisation numbers in the same call. Anyone who wants to go through a customer register has to make one call per company, and in the paid API each call costs one transaction.

**Searching for people requires a personal identity number.** The engagements list in the paid API shows all companies where a person has an engagement, but only if you already have the person's personal identity number (personnummer). You cannot search on a name across all companies.

**History exists only in the paid API.** The open API and SCB's API show only the position today. In the paid one you can ask about a point in time, but cases and share capital changes for limited companies go back only to 2003.

**Board and signatories cost money.** They are not in the open API, and each lookup in the paid one counts as a transaction.

**Not all annual reports are free.** Only those filed digitally since 2020 are in the open API. Scanned annual reports and the housing cooperatives' annual reports are not there. The paid API lists annual reports among its documents, for the document fee, but Bolagsverket's page does not say which formats or organisation forms are included. Ask Bolagsverket if you need the older ones or the cooperatives'.

**Swedish only.** The data is delivered in Swedish, even though the technical documentation is available in English.

**Other registers are elsewhere.** Bolagsverket's APIs combine data from Bolagsverket and SCB, but not data from Kronofogden (the Swedish Enforcement Authority), Lantmäteriet (the Swedish land registry authority) or the announcement texts in Post- och Inrikes Tidningar (the Swedish Official Gazette). Anyone who needs them has to go to each source separately, on the terms that apply there.

## Beneficial owners after 1 July 2026

On 1 July 2026, the amendments to the Act (2017:631) on registration of beneficial owners (verkliga huvudmän) entered into force ([prop. 2025/26:129](https://data.riksdagen.se/dokument/HD03129.text), read 2026-10-23). They implement the EU's sixth anti-money-laundering directive, and they mean that the data is no longer open to anyone in electronic form.

Bolagsverket now divides users into three groups ([Retrieve information on beneficial owners](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/hamtainformationomverklighuvudman.6009.html), updated 2026-06-24, read 2026-10-26):

| Group | Who | Access |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Authorities working against money laundering, for example law enforcement and supervisory authorities | Immediate, full and free of charge |
| 2 | Operators who under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (penningtvättslagen) must check beneficial owners as part of their customer due diligence (kundkännedom) | Through API, access solution or e-service |
| 3 | Other authorities, researchers, journalists, civil society and others who can show a legitimate interest | Limited, subject to a fee and tied to individual cases, after assessment |

To use the API for beneficial owners you must belong to one of the first groups, or be a company that passes the data on to one of them. You need a supplementary agreement to the paid API, and the calls require a client certificate (mTLS) instead of just a key pair. According to Bolagsverket, the e-service where groups 2 and 3 apply for access is coming in autumn 2026.

In the Act, it is Chapter 3, sections 9 c to 9 f that regulate who may receive the data electronically. A certificate of legitimate interest is valid for three years (section 9 f), and under the Ordinance (2017:667) contracting authorities have a legitimate interest in procurement and in follow-up during the contract period (review of the legal text 2026-10-23). The public still has the right to access public documents, but that right gives no right to a particular format, and so not to an API.

Anyone not covered by the Anti-Money Laundering Act should expect not to receive the data automatically. Anyone buying it from someone else should ask on what grounds the provider receives it and to whom it may pass it on.

## Worked example: 2,000 lookups a month

The example is fictional. Exempelbolaget i Sundsvall AB (fictional company) has 300 employees and wants to check its suppliers in the procurement system. Each time a new supplier is added, and once a quarter for existing ones, the system makes a lookup. That averages 2,000 lookups a month. The prices are Bolagsverket's, excluding VAT, taken 2026-10-26.

**Case 1: basic data only.** Procurement wants to know that the supplier exists, has the right name and address, is not deregistered or bankrupt and counts as active. All of that is in the open API. Note that "active" (verksam) is a single flag for F-tax, VAT or employer registration, and that the response does not say which of them. Anyone who must know that the supplier has F-tax specifically can see it in SCB's business register, updated weekly, or at Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency) ([guide in Swedish](/guider/organisationsnummer-och-f-skatt-via-api/)). Cost: SEK 0. 2,000 calls a month is far below the limit of 60 a minute.

**Case 2: basic data, board and signatory rights.** The legal department also wants to see who may sign agreements for the supplier. That requires the paid API. If the system retrieves basic data free of charge in the open API and board and signatory rights in a single call to the paid one, that is 2,000 transactions a month. The 500 tier is not enough, so it becomes the 3,000 tier:

- Connection fee: SEK 5,000
- Monthly fee: 12 × SEK 5,000 = SEK 60,000
- First year: SEK 65,000, then SEK 60,000 a year
- Per actual lookup: SEK 5,000 / 2,000 = SEK 2.50, and in the first year SEK 65,000 / 24,000 = SEK 2.71

Notifications are included at that tier, so the system can be told when something changes at a supplier instead of asking every quarter. That may reduce the number of lookups, but the next tier down is 500 transactions, which is too small.

**Case 3: as case 2, but with two calls per company.** If the system instead retrieves basic data and board in two separate calls to the paid API, that is 4,000 transactions. That requires the 8,000 tier, which costs SEK 13,000 a month, or SEK 156,000 a year. The same information, more than double the cost.

**Case 4: a registration certificate for every tenth supplier.** If 200 suppliers a month are to have a registration certificate saved in the procurement file, you need the document tier for 1,000, since the tier for 100 is not enough. That adds SEK 40,000 a month, SEK 480,000 a year, on top of the transactions. Here it pays to ask whether a registration certificate is really needed, or whether the data in the API response, saved with a date, is sufficient as documentation.

## When you do not need a provider

If you only need basic data on Swedish companies, you do not need a provider. Name, address, company form, status, SNI codes and digital annual reports are free from Bolagsverket, without an agreement. Workplaces and size classes are free from SCB. Bolagsverket's page on high-value datasets says that the data may be used both commercially and non-commercially, as long as the use does not breach the rules on personal data or confidentiality, and that there may be a requirement to state the source (read 2026-10-26). We have not found the licence text itself. EU Regulation 2023/138 requires the datasets to be made available under CC0, CC BY 4.0 or an equally open licence, and under the [Act (2022:818)](https://data.riksdagen.se/dokument/sfs-2022-818.text) on the public sector's making data available, high-value datasets are to be free of charge, and conditions for re-use may be set only if justified by a public interest (review of the legal text 2026-10-23).

You can also manage without a provider if you have a few hundred lookups a month and need the board, and your organisation can sign an agreement with Bolagsverket. The 500 transaction tier costs SEK 12,000 a year plus the connection, and you get the data directly from the source.

What you need to allow for when building it yourself is the work around it: two APIs with different authentication, SCB's API with a third, dates in milliseconds, responses in Swedish, one call per company, a test environment for the paid API only after an agreement, and keeping up with Bolagsverket's changes to the APIs. It is not difficult, but it is not free in working hours.

## If you choose a ready-made service

A provider can be reasonable if you want a single login for several sources, responses in a format you decide yourself, or to avoid agreements and tiers at each authority. Whoever you choose, there are some things you should require.

**Source and date in every response.** Bolagsverket's own response says for each item whether it comes from Bolagsverket or SCB. A provider should not give you less than that. You should be able to see where each item comes from, through which provider, and when it was last retrieved or changed. Without that, you cannot answer the question "how did you know this?" when someone reviews a decision.

**Who is behind it.** Company name, organisation number and address should be on the website, as should the subcontractors the data comes from. It should be possible to get an invoice.

**Terms for how you may use the data.** Read what the agreement says about internal use, about storing the data and about showing it to others. A provider's terms can be narrower than the authority's, because the provider is itself bound by the terms of its sources.

**Personal data.** As soon as a response contains board members or authorised signatories, you are processing personal data. Ask who is the controller for what, how the data subjects are informed and where the data is stored.

**The price without a quote.** A price per call or per month shown on the website makes it possible to calculate as in the example above before you contact anyone.

Our own service, GET /bolag, opens later and is not launched at the time of writing. It is built for internal use by Swedish companies and organisations. The requirements above are the ones we build to.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does Bolagsverket's API cost?

The API for high-value datasets is free. The API for company information costs SEK 5,000 as a connection fee and then SEK 1,000, 5,000, 13,000 or 24,000 a month for 500, 3,000, 8,000 or 15,000 transactions, excluding VAT. Documents such as registration certificates cost extra: SEK 4,000 a month for 100 documents, SEK 40,000 for 1,000 and SEK 200,000 for 5,000. The prices come from [Bolagsverket's page](https://bolagsverket.se/apierochoppnadata/hamtaforetagsinformation/apiforatthamtaforetagsinformation.3988.html), read 2026-10-26.

### Is there a free API for company information?

Yes, two. Bolagsverket's API for high-value datasets gives basic data and digital annual reports for Swedish companies and associations, without an agreement. SCB's API for the business register gives companies, workplaces and size classes, after registration and with a personal API key. Neither contains board or authorised signatories.

### What is the difference between high-value datasets and the paid API?

High-value datasets are what the EU has designated as free of charge: name, address, company form, status, SNI codes and digital annual reports. The paid API contains all of that and also board, signatory rights, share capital, cases, financial reports, information at a point in time, notifications from 3,000 transactions and, with a supplementary agreement, beneficial owners. The open API requires only a customer registration, the paid one an agreement sent by post.

### May the data be used commercially?

According to Bolagsverket's page on high-value datasets, the data may be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes, as long as this does not breach the rules on personal data or confidentiality, and you may be required to state the source (read 2026-10-26). For the paid API, use is governed by the purpose stated in Annex A of the agreement, and a changed purpose must be notified to Bolagsverket.

### Are board and authorised signatories included?

Not in the open API. The paid API includes officers (board, managing director, auditors), signatory rights as text and a separate question that shows whether a given person may sign for the company alone, jointly with others or not at all. Each question counts as a transaction.

### How do I retrieve annual reports via API?

Digitally filed annual reports for limited companies from 2020 onwards are free in the API for high-value datasets: first `/dokumentlista` with the organisation number, then `/dokument/{dokumentId}`, which returns a zip file with the annual report in iXBRL. The same annual reports are available as weekly zip files. Scanned annual reports and the housing cooperatives' annual reports are not available free of charge. The paid API has annual reports among its documents, which count towards the document tier, but Bolagsverket does not state which formats are included.

### Is there an Allabolag API?

Yes. Allabolag has its own [page about an API for company information](https://www.allabolag.se/info/api). The footer names UC Affärsinformation AB, part of Enento Group, and the page states no price (read 2026-10-26). If you want the same basic data that Allabolag has, directly from the source and free of charge, look at Bolagsverket's API for high-value datasets and SCB's business register.
